We are looking to add a Developer Analyst to join our fast-paced team!

The Developer Analyst, Warehouse Applications position, part of our IT services team is responsible for creating, maintaining, and supporting the software used to run LTD’s warehouse operations.  This individual has a broad mix of responsibilities, which include business/process analysis, application development, technical support, business support and project management.  This individual will also be regarded as a subject matter expert for the software and systems that run LTD’s warehouse operations.

This is a remote based position reporting to the Sr. Manager, Warehouse Applications. 

 

Your day to day will vary but here’s an idea of what you’ll work on:

 

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze issues, gather requirements, create designs, and develop technical solutions based on those designs.
  • Must be able to evaluate potential technical solutions to business and technical issues and provide recommendations based on technical merits, LTD technical standards, and long-term supportability of the solution.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software systems, analyze root causes, and fix issues based on that analysis.
  • Ability to summarize, simplify, and communicate technical concepts in a manner that is understood by non-technical staff.
  • Flexibility in thinking and decision-making that balance technical needs with the needs of the department and business.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects, ability to reprioritize quickly.
  • Document changes made to the system; follow departmental standards for managing code and system changes.
  • Will work on cross-functional teams as project needs dictate.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze and document existing warehouse processes and operating procedures as they relate to LTD’s warehouse applications.
  • Provide “level-2” support of warehouse applications, fix minor and major issues as they arise.
  • Analyze root causes of warehouse application issues and work with both warehouse management and LTD technical staff to design and develop permanent technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technical solutions to warehouse issues.
  • Create and maintain system and/or design documentation as needed.
  • Understand LTD technical standards and apply them to technical designs.
  • Perform application configuration.
  • Maintain existing LTD warehouse applications; make improvements to applications as directed by technical and operations management.
  • As needed, provide subject matter expertise to the broader LTD organization regarding the operation and design of LTD’s warehouse applications.

Schedule Requirements

  • Standard business hours with flexible daily start and end times.
  • Infrequent overtime and weekend work as project needs dictate.
  • Rotating remote on-call support as scheduled during peak shipping months (Q3/Q4) when the warehouse works extended hours. Rotations occur every 3 weeks.

 

Our ideal candidate:

  • A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in Information Systems, Operations Management, developing software for a warehouse or distribution center environment
  • Developing medium-complexity software using either Java or C#
  • Red Prairie/JDA/Blue Yonder Warehouse Management MOCA
  • Experience with software development lifecycle/project management/QA methodologies.
  • Experience using SQL to retrieve and manage data within a database.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting software systems.
