Job Description

CSC Generation is saving Retail. We acquire store and catalog based retailers, and transform them into high performing, “digital first” brands. In just four years, we’ve acquired and turned around brands including: Sur La Table, Z Gallerie, and One Kings Lane, saving over 2,000 jobs and reaching $500M in revenue, with a path to over $1B in revenue in the near term.

 

The HR Manager, Canada oversees all company HR matters including but not limited to organizational development, performance management, employee relations and compensation and benefits. This is both a strategic and hands-on role that is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This role will report to the Senior Director, HR and will be based in Mississauga, Ontario (you will begin remotely but you may report to our Mississauga office once it reopens).  

 

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and training in accordance with applicable laws and best practices 
  • Driving performance management processes
  • Fostering effective employee relations 
  • Assisting with the administration of benefit programs
  • Managing health and safety requirements and programs in accordance with legal requirements and company standards 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, and preferably HR business partner experience
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and partnering capability combined with demonstrated ability to influence and build credibility
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian labor and employment laws 
  • Experience working with a variety of employee populations 
  • High degree of responsiveness to business demands and ability to work across time zones 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience supporting business transformation and change initiatives
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for results
