Job Description

CSC Generation is saving Retail. We acquire store and catalog based retailers, and transform them into high performing, “digital first” brands. In just four years, we’ve acquired and turned around brands including: Sur La Table, Z Gallerie, and One Kings Lane, saving over 2,000 jobs and reaching $500M in revenue, with a path to over $1B in revenue in the near term.

 

The Senior Director, HR is accountable for the execution of the people strategy across our diverse family of brands with an objective to promote digital transformation, contribute to business growth, and drive positive financial results. Reporting to the VP, HR, this role will work closely with management and stakeholders to ensure we are creating and supporting employee engagement and enabling excellent performance.  

 

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes (include but are not limited to):

  • Leading a team of HR managers based in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and creating programs to enhance the capability of HR teams in the various locations
  • Managing the performance appraisal process and assisting with goal development and accountability 
  • Designing and implementing individual and group training that will enhance growth, development, and compliance
  • Diagnosing people and capability gaps (e.g., performance, talent, compensation) and developing targeted interventions and development strategies to address them
  • Leading M&A integration processes from an HR perspective 

 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • 10  years of progressive HR experience, including time spent as an HR business partner 
  • A minimum of 3 years of people management experience (global teams preferred)
  • A minimum of 2 years of learning and development experience
  • Experience working with a variety of employee populations 
  • Experience with M&A and acquisition integration processes 
  • High degree of responsiveness to business demands and ability to work across time zones 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience supporting business transformation and change initiatives
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and maturity in all situations
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for results 
  • Based in one of the following locations: Greater Chicago, Austin, or Houston
