CSC Generation is saving Retail. We acquire store and catalog based retailers, and transform them into high performing, “digital first” brands. In just four years, we’ve acquired and turned around brands including: Sur La Table, Z Gallerie, and One Kings Lane, saving over 2,000 jobs and reaching $500M in revenue. 


This is a "first of its kind" role with us with the ability to establish, build, and grow a new business function! You will have the opportunity to develop and lead real estate strategy for a multi-brand, omni-channel platform with over 100 stores and growing.


Our preferred hiring location is the Greater Chicago Area, however, we will consider remote candidates located anywhere in the Central US who are willing to travel as needed. Candidates outside of these geographic areas will be considered on a case by case basis.


Your day to day will include:

  • Oversee site selection of new stores for all brands, employing data driven analyses that leverage financial, ROI analysis, and customer data
  • Oversee and participate in lease negotiations, in close partnership with the General Counsel
  • Develop and foster strategic relationships with real estate business partners
  • Optimize real estate portfolio by performing gap analyses, routine store profitability analysis, and leveraging lease actions and new site selection
  • Analyze and make recommendations on lease actions, and present such recommendations to key executive stakeholders (CEO, CFO, and board members)
  • Partner cross functionally with retail operations, store leadership, finance and accounting, visual merchandising, and external partners to drive success in all areas of the role
  • Support the due diligence process of acquiring new brands by analyzing and benchmarking the acquisition target's lease portfolio
  • Opportunistically participate in the acquisition process by supporting lease amendments 


Our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or similar with 5 - 10 years of experience
  • Experience working for a world class omni-channel retailer or top leasing / real estate development company
  • Exceptional understanding of finance, retail analytics, and store profitability analysis
  • Exceptional communication and business development skills
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves
  • A leader who knows how to build and scale
  • Ability to travel as needed
