CSC Generation is saving Retail. Through strategic acquisition, a modern technology platform, and operating expertise, we turn underperforming retailers into profitable, high performing brands. In just four years, we’ve acquired and turned around brands including Sur La Table, Z Gallerie, and One Kings Lane, saving over 2,000 jobs and reaching $500M in revenue. 


Our People Operations/HR team plays a critical role in developing, retaining, and acquiring talent, championing our culture, and ensuring consistency and compliance portfolio wide.  The current team consists of HR Business Partners, Compensation/Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Communications, HRIS, Payroll, Training and Development. 


The CHRO will be responsible for all people-related strategies. You will build, lead and develop a team of HR professionals supporting various employee populations located throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. We are growth focused with a heavy M&A component. Our CHRO will be a builder, who understands the complexities of a growing business with complex org structures, multiple entities, and different cultures.  

This role will be a huge challenge but also an incredible opportunity to make an impact. 


Our preferred hiring location is the Greater Chicago Area, however, we will consider remote candidates located anywhere in the Central US who are willing to travel as needed. Candidates outside of these geographic areas will be considered on a case by case basis.


The role:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee our HR roadmap - acquisition integration, organizational design, succession planning, compensation/benefits design, employee development, compliance/policy development, systems, etc.
  • Build and lead a high performing HR organization
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive management; provide expert HR analysis during the due diligence process, and lead HR integration post acquisition
  • Develop initiatives, policies, and programs to complement existing practices and create consistency across the portfolio
  • Champion our culture of excellence


Our ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience; at least 3 years of executive HR leadership required. Experience in fast paced, high growth companies preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or similar. SPHR, SHRM certifications preferred.
  • Experienced leading multiple acquisition integrations ($100M+ in revenue)
  • Experienced developing, implementing and scaling a people strategy with an international workforce of 2,000+ 
  • Analytical, data driven, and experienced leveraging technology for automation, record keeping, innovation, and decision making 
  • Understands current and future HR trends and regulations
