CSC Generation Engineering needs the best software leadership to support our mission of improving the tech stack of our portfolio companies. We manage existing e-commerce websites, while building cross product components, and upgrading legacy infrastructure. Our focus on scalability and automation enable continued growth in our portfolio.

The Director of Engineering furthers our culture of honesty, transparency, and empathy within the engineering organization. Our Director leads product discussions, architects new systems, solves technical challenges, contributes as an individual, and builds our teams. The role requires excellent communication skills to work with business stakeholders and vendors.
We are open to candidates who want to work remotely 100% of the time. Our ideal hire works from Austin or Toronto, though candidates outside of these areas will be considered.
Your day to day will vary but include:
Owning the platform tech stack
Identifying and resolving technical challenges and opportunities, developing the technical roadmap
Being the point of contact for business teams, communicating technical details, pushing back on requests when needed
Building, allocating, and accounting for teams of developers
Developing migration strategies for legacy code and services
Architecting frameworks for upcoming projects
Working with vendors to negotiate new business and renewals
Our Ideal Candidate:
You're someone who isn't afraid to take ownership of a product or process and run with it.
Able to take complex requirements from multiple stakeholder organizations and develop an execution delivery plan
Knows how to take project portfolios and producing budget allocations, timelines and headcount plans
Experienced in vendor management and sourcing
Believes in finding the best solution, not just one that works
Bonus points if you have:
Written an app in React, or Angular.
Understanding of modern network design and security practices.
Knowledge of core analysis concepts (Bayes’ Theorem, Simpson’s Paradox, significance, etc.)
AWS certification(s) and/or experience with AWS
